Feature Request: Jump from BOE Summary Widget to Filtered Estimate List
Summary:
Enable users to click any unassigned value in the Total Hours/Units/Cost summary widget on the BOE List and automatically open the Estimates List pre-filtered to show only unassigned estimates. This provides a fast, contextual way to review and assign outstanding estimate items.
Problem Statement:
Today, when a BOE author, reviewer, or approver sees unassigned totals in the BOE List summary widget, there is no direct way to drill into the underlying unassigned estimates. Users must manually navigate to the Estimates List and build filters to approximate what they saw in the summary. This is slow, inconsistent across users, and increases the risk that unassigned estimates are overlooked or misinterpreted.
Proposed Solution:
Clicking any unassigned Total Hours/Units/Cost value in the BOE List summary widget should:
Navigate the user to the Estimates List view.
Automatically apply filters to show only estimates that are currently unassigned (based on the same criteria used in the widget).
Retain any relevant BOE/contextual filters (e.g., the current BOE, project, or time frame) so that the resulting list exactly matches the scope of the summary widget.
Optionally highlight or label that the view is “Filtered to unassigned estimates” so users understand why they are seeing that subset.
Allow users to clear or adjust the filters after navigation to continue working in the Estimates List as needed.
Benefits:
Provides a fast, intuitive drill-down from high-level BOE totals to the underlying unassigned estimates.
Reduces manual navigation and filter setup, saving time for authors, reviewers, and approvers.
Decreases the likelihood of unassigned estimates being missed, improving assignment completeness and data quality.
Improves consistency across users by standardizing how unassigned totals are investigated and acted upon.
