Feature Request: Display CER Values and Update Controls on Dashboard
Summary:
Add visibility of CER (Cost Estimating Relationship) calculated values directly on the proposal dashboard, along with an “Update CERs” action. This enables users to quickly review and refresh CER-driven costs without leaving the dashboard, ensuring that the overall proposal cost structure remains accurate, transparent, and up to date.
Problem Statement:
Currently, the dashboard does not display CER calculated values, and users lack a direct way to refresh CERs from the dashboard. This forces users to navigate to other views or modules to understand how CERs are impacting the cost structure. As a result, derived and dependent costs may be overlooked, particularly when derivative resources are automatically calculated from base resources or when summary task CERs roll costs into specific WBS or CLIN fields. This gap increases the risk of incomplete or misleading estimates, reduces transparency, and makes it difficult to validate assumptions and trace costs across tasks and summary levels.
Proposed Solution:
Display CER calculated values as part of the dashboard’s cost summary and/or resource panels so users can immediately see the impact of CERs on proposal totals.
Add an “Update CERs” button on the dashboard that re-runs CER calculations for the proposal in context, including:
CERs applied globally across the proposal.
CERs used on summary tasks that concentrate costs into particular WBS or CLIN fields.
Ensure that the CER display clearly distinguishes between base resources and derivative CER-driven resources.
Provide visual indicators or flags when CERs have not been refreshed since a relevant change (e.g., base resource edits, structure changes) so users know when an update is recommended.
Maintain performance by running updates asynchronously where needed and providing user feedback (e.g., in-progress and completion status).
Benefits:
Improves estimate accuracy by making CER-derived costs visible at a glance on the dashboard.
Reduces the risk of overlooking indirect or dependent costs, especially in complex proposals with global or summary-level CERs.
Enhances transparency and traceability of costs across tasks, WBS elements, and CLIN fields.
Speeds up review and validation workflows by centralizing CER visibility and updates in the primary dashboard view.
Increases user confidence in proposal cost outputs and supports better decision-making during estimate refinement and approval.
