Feature Request: Direct Cost Visibility on Proposal Dashboard
Summary:
Add a clear Direct Cost value to the proposal dashboard so users can immediately see the full cost structure of a proposal, including costs derived from base resources. This provides at-a-glance visibility into the true financial impact of a proposal.
Problem Statement:
Today, the proposal dashboard does not expose Direct Costs, even when derivative resources are automatically calculated from base resources. As a result, users lack a complete view of proposal costs and may overlook indirect or dependent costs. This can lead to incomplete or misleading estimates, reduce confidence in the numbers, and make it harder to validate that costs are being applied correctly across tasks, summary levels, WBS elements, or CLINs.
Proposed Solution:
Display Direct Costs prominently on the proposal dashboard alongside existing cost and pricing metrics.
Include Direct Costs aggregated at the overall proposal level, with support for configurations where Direct Costs are applied globally or concentrated at summary task levels.
Ensure that Direct Costs reflect derivative resources that are calculated from base resources, so the dashboard always shows the full, up-to-date cost picture.
Provide clear labeling and, where possible, basic drill-through or hover details (e.g., indication of which WBS or CLIN fields are driving the Direct Costs) to support traceability.
Benefits:
Improves transparency by exposing the full cost structure directly on the proposal dashboard.
Reduces the risk of incomplete or misleading estimates when derivative or indirect costs are involved.
Helps users validate cost assumptions and confirm that Direct Costs are applied correctly across tasks, summary levels, WBS, and CLIN fields.
Supports better decision-making and review workflows by surfacing critical cost information in a single, central location.
