Feature Request: Linux-Compatible Configuration for Deltek Companion Products
Summary:
Enable configuration of BOE Pro, Cost Volume Pro, and Authorization Server Pro from headless Linux environments. This capability would support automated builds and deployments without requiring Windows-based configuration managers or WINE.
Problem Statement:
The configuration managers packaged with these Companion Products currently require Windows. Teams using Linux-based build infrastructure must maintain a dedicated Windows runner or use WINE, adding dependencies, maintenance overhead, and potential security vulnerabilities.
For teams that build each environment from scratch, this limitation complicates deployment automation and increases the effort required to deploy software and cumulative updates.
Proposed Solution:
Provide a Linux-compatible, headless configuration utility for BOE Pro, Cost Volume Pro, and Authorization Server Pro.
Support non-interactive execution through a command-line interface suitable for CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab runners.
Provide the configuration capabilities needed to prepare each product for its target environment without relying on Windows or WINE.
Return clear validation messages, execution logs, and exit codes so automated pipelines can detect configuration failures and respond appropriately.
Benefits:
Reduces reliance on dedicated Windows build infrastructure and its associated maintenance costs.
Avoids WINE-specific dependencies and reduces the potential security exposure associated with additional packages.
Streamlines repeatable, from-scratch builds and deployment of cumulative updates.
Supports more agile, consistent deployment workflows using headless Linux runners.
