Feature Request: Visual page size indicators for BOE Pro text entry
Summary:
Provide visual page size indicators on all BOE Pro text entry screens so users can see how pasted or authored content (tables, diagrams, and text) will fit on the final BOE pages when exported to PDF, Word, or other output formats.
Problem Statement:
Today, users can paste tables, diagrams, and rich text into BOE Pro without any clear indication of how that content will paginate or fit within the printable page boundaries. As a result, content that looks acceptable in the editor may be cut off, wrapped poorly, or extend beyond the page margins in the generated BOE outputs. Users only discover these layout issues after generating the output document, which leads to trial-and-error editing, rework, and frustration.
Proposed Solution:
Introduce visual indicators of page size and margins on all BOE Pro text entry screens where users compose or paste content. The solution should:
• Display clear page boundary guides (e.g., outlines or margin lines) that reflect the selected BOE output page size and orientation (e.g., A4/Letter, portrait/landscape).
• Update dynamically when the user changes the target output format or page settings, so the editor view always matches the configured BOE output page size.
• Make it obvious when tables, diagrams, or other content extend beyond the usable page area (e.g., visual warnings, highlight overflow regions, or show horizontal scroll beyond page margins).
• Support common content types used in BOEs, including pasted tables, diagrams, and rich text blocks, so users can adjust widths and layouts directly in the editor.
• Operate in a non-intrusive way that does not interfere with normal text editing, while still giving users a reliable preview of how their content will fit on the page.
Benefits:
• Reduces rework by allowing users to size and format tables and diagrams correctly during data entry, before generating BOE outputs.
• Improves the quality and readability of final BOE documents by preventing content from being cut off or misaligned at page boundaries.
• Saves time and effort by minimizing trial-and-error cycles of generating, reviewing, and correcting BOE layouts.
• Increases user confidence that what they see in the editor will closely match the final exported PDF/Word output.
